Addis Ababa, September 15, 2024 – Babul Keyer USA's fully equipped training center in Kality has successfully completed three rounds of vocational training, empowering hundreds of unemployed youth with marketable skills and seed money for business startups.

The center, received from the government, offers short-term training in tailoring, computer skills, and languages including English, Arabic, and Afan Oromo. Trainees are selected in partnership with government bodies to ensure fair representation and equal opportunity.

"When I arrived at Kality, I had no skills and no hope," says Tigist, a 24-year-old graduate of the tailoring program. "Today, I run my own small business making clothes for my neighbors. Babul Keyer USA didn't just teach me to sew – they gave me my dignity back."

The program has been particularly impactful for young women and returnees from the Middle East. In partnership with the ILO, 75 returnees received specialized capacity-building training and seed money deposited directly into their accounts to start businesses.

Professional designing training has also been provided for young ladies, youth, and other community groups, with successful graduates receiving startup capital for sustainable income generation. The center continues to expand its offerings based on community needs and market demand.
