Ramadan 2024: Daily IFTAR Feeds 5,000 Beneficiaries Throughout Holy Month
Babul Keyer USA provides daily IFTAR meals to 5,000 beneficiaries throughout Ramadan for the fifth consecutive year.

Addis Ababa, March 10, 2024 – As the sun sets each evening during Ramadan, 5,000 individuals in Addis Ababa break their fast with meals provided by Babul Keyer USA. For five years, this daily IFTAR program has been a lifeline for the poorest of the poor during the holy month.

The program ensures that low-income families, elderly individuals, widows, and orphaned children can observe Ramadan with dignity. Rising food costs and economic hardship make it increasingly difficult for vulnerable families to afford nutritious meals, especially during the month of fasting.

"Before Babul Keyer USA, there were days during Ramadan when I had nothing to break my fast," shares Kadija, a widow who receives daily IFTAR meals. "Now I come here each evening. The food is nutritious, the people are kind, and I never feel alone."

The IFTAR program reaches 5,000 direct beneficiaries daily, with an estimated 12,000 indirect beneficiaries including family members and dependents also benefiting from the support. Beyond meals, the program creates a sense of community and shared purpose during the holy month.

"Ramadan is about compassion and giving," notes Hanan Mahamud. "Through this program, we ensure that the blessings of this month reach everyone, especially those who need it most."
