URGENT: Elderly Care Program at Breaking Point

Behind the doors of tiny rooms in Addis Ababa's poorest neighborhoods, hundreds of elderly Ethiopians spend their final years alone, sick, and forgotten. Babul Keyer USA has been their lifeline—providing medication, paying rent, sending caregivers, offering dignity. But demand has overwhelmed our capacity. We currently support 500 elderly individuals with home care and medical expenses. We pay rent for 120 seniors who would otherwise be homeless. We provide medication for 270 elders with chronic conditions. But the waiting list grows daily. Every week, we receive desperate calls from elderly individuals who have no food, no medicine, no one. We must expand this program immediately, or watch our most vulnerable community members die alone and in pain.

IMMEDIATE NEEDS: - Emergency medication supplies for 500 elderly patients: $75,000 - Urgent rent payments for 50 seniors facing eviction: $30,000 - Expansion of home care team (10 additional caregivers): $60,000/year - Medical equipment (wheelchairs, walking aids, hospital beds): $45,000 - Emergency food packages for homebound elderly: $40,000 - Medical transportation and hospital visits: $25,000 TOTAL URGENT FUNDING NEEDED: $275,000
