MEDICAL EMERGENCY: 400 Blindness Cases Await Surgery

Cataracts are reversible. Blindness from untreated eye conditions is preventable. Yet 400 people in our community sit in darkness, unable to afford the surgery that would restore their sight. They are grandmothers who cannot see their grandchildren's faces. Fathers who cannot work to feed their families. Elderly individuals who cannot move safely and have become prisoners in their own homes. In partnership with Yekatit 12 Hospital, Babul Keyer USA has already restored sight to 400 individuals. But the waiting list has doubled. Without immediate intervention, these 400 people will lose their chance at sight forever as their conditions become irreversible. This is a medical emergency that demands immediate action.

URGENT MEDICAL NEEDS: - Cataract surgeries (400 procedures): $100,000 ($250 each) - Pre-screening medical camps: $25,000 - Post-operative medications and care: $30,000 - Transportation for patients to/from hospital: $15,000 - Medical equipment and supplies: $20,000 - Specialist doctor support and coordination: $10,000 TOTAL URGENT NEED: $200,000
