<p><strong>Addis Ababa, May 18, 2024</strong> – Behind the doors of tiny rooms in Addis Ababa's poorest neighborhoods, hundreds of elderly Ethiopians spend their final years alone, sick, and forgotten. Babul Keyer USA has become their lifeline.</p><p>The organization currently supports 500 elderly individuals with comprehensive care: home-to-home visits, medication coverage, rent assistance, and medical expense support. For many, this program means the difference between dying alone and living with dignity.</p><p>"I raised six children alone," says Abebech, 78, who receives regular visits and medication from Babul Keyer USA. "Now they struggle to support their own families. Without Babul Keyer USA, I would have no one. They are my family now."</p><p>The program's impact is measurable: medication expenses covered for 270 elders, house rent paid for 120 seniors who would otherwise be homeless, and 500 individuals receiving regular home care. In cooperation with the government, 51 beneficiaries have been able to secure government housing.</p><p>"Every elderly person deserves to spend their final years with dignity," says Hanan Mahamud, Founder and Director. "Our elderly care program is not just about providing services – it's about honoring those who built our community."</p>
