Babul Keyer USA joins Ethiopia's Green Legacy initiative, planting trees for environmental sustainability.
<p><strong>Addis Ababa, July 25, 2024</strong> – Babul Keyer USA has joined Ethiopia's national Green Legacy initiative, participating in tree planting campaigns across Addis Ababa and beyond to combat deforestation and promote environmental sustainability.</p><p>Volunteers, staff, and community members have come together to plant trees in schools, along roads, and in community spaces, contributing to the national goal of building a greener, more sustainable Ethiopia.</p><p>"Our work is about more than just feeding people today," says Hanan Mahamud. "We must also think about the Ethiopia our children will inherit. Planting trees is an investment in their future – in clean air, healthy soil, and a stable climate."</p><p>The Green Legacy participation complements Babul Keyer USA's acquisition of 1 hectare of land in Olonkome, West Shoa Zone, for sustainable agricultural development. This land will be used to grow fresh produce for feeding programs while demonstrating sustainable farming practices to local farmers.</p><p>The organization plans to expand its environmental initiatives, engaging youth and community members in ongoing tree planting and environmental education programs.</p>
